Hy-Ten Increases Rebar Output with MEP’s Concept 91
A Case Study on MEP, Concept 91 at Hy-Ten Reinforcements at Bootle.
Following trials and an evaluation period at Hy-Ten’s Bootle plant of a MEP Concept 91 stirrup bender, productivity and output has now increased substantially.
As well as their ‘Bamtech’ mesh carpet system; Hy-Ten produce standard cut bars and links from cold rolled coil. The computer controlled Concept 91 replaced two link benders as part of an equipment upgrade and factory modernisation and now output of links and cut bar is up to 4 times that of the previous two machines.
The Concept 91 is fitted with the unique MEP straightening system that allows for any quality of cold drawn or hot rolled coil to be used and reduces setting time.
Simple to use computer programming enables the storing and use of up to 300 pre-programmed shapes of links to be accessed, with on-screen, cursor controlled positioning adjustment.
Diameter of wire handled runs from 6mm to 16mm with ability to double strand up to 12mm wire.
This machine is part of Hy-Ten's on-going programme to re-equip with additional MEP equipment.
Whitelegg offer an immediate countrywide call out service should problems occur. For critical parts an overnight courier delivery service from Italy is available.
